Sustainability Truth and Reconciliation SubmissionFrom September 18 to 25, the UBC Sustainability Initiative will host a platform through which the UBC community can reflect on the Truth and Reconciliation movement in Canada. A long banner of paper will line the lobby of the Centre of Interactive Research on Sustainability (CIRS) and will invite students, staff and faculty members to share their thoughts on how they contribute to reconciliation. Come read what others have to say, take a marker and add your thoughts to complete the sentence: “My role in reconciliation is…”. The banner will be gifted to the First Nations House of Learning.

Don’t want the conversation to stop? The Sustainability Education Resource Centre will share the educational opportunities at the intersection of indigeneity and sustainability. The video screen in the lobby of the CIRS building will display a selection of courses and volunteer programs that connect traditional indigenous knowledge and world views with sustainability paradigms.
