Aboriginal Programs and Services, the Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies, Indigenous Studies, and the Library have partnered to develop a series of events and programming that align with the goals and principles of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and that coincide with the last National Event in Vancouver. In order to provide a wide-range of informative, engaging, and authentic learning experiences for staff, faculty and students, these events range from on-campus break-out sessions and discussions series at the Alternator Centre for Contemporary Arts, to a unique opportunity for students, staff or faculty to attend the National Event in Vancouver as part of the UBC Okanagan campus community. Below is a brief summary of each event series:
The Road to Reconciliation:
Students, staff and faculty are invited to take part in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s last National Event on September 18th at the Pacific National Exhibition. Bus departure from UBC’s Okanagan campus is on Tuesday, September 17th at 8:30 am, returning to Kelowna on Thursday, September 19th. There is a maximum seat capacity for this trip and registration is required.
